Hello, everyone! I need help to find a book for travel to Europe. The book was wrote by someone from WA State, and it is help to find a good deal on accommodations in Europe, and travel by bus and train. Book has maps for all major cities and lot of good tips for travelers. If any one can help, please do so. I am planning to travel this summer to Ukraine and Russia, with my wife and 8 years old son. But I want to make a stop in Italy and visit about 10 more countries before flying to Ukraine. Any suggestions.

Just curious, what 10 countries are you planning to get to? How many weeks you have?

Do you remember the title?

One or Two days per country isn't good. You will miss most of the country you're visiting.

Why don't you target a few countries and spend some time learning about the various parts of the country.

Italy is way too much to view what it has to visit. Rome is just one small part of Italy. How about Florence, Pisa, Venice, Milan,Capri, Serranto, etc., etc.. Just trying all of the different foods cannot be tried in four weeks.

In any case, this is my opinion. This type of travelling is spent mostly inside of a train. I had a Swedish friend used to say "Trains turn their back to the country". The railroads are passing in the worst areas, missing all of the beauty.

Personally I find that trains are more likely to provide a beautiful view - perhaps it's a Sweden thing?

Are you sure that you want to undertake such an expedition?

It is about 1450 mi from Rome to Kiev driving by the most direct route.

It takes about 40 hr by train.

Thanks for comment.., I am planning to flying from Italy to Ukraine. But I want to traveling by train from country to country. Yes, may be this is to much(10), but at least 5-6 close to each other countries.
Why few days in each country?, because I want to show to my son the best of the best in Europe, and make him hungry to see more in next trip. He are not really want to go this time.

No, it really doesn't make sense. Europe isn't going anywhere, so I don't get what's the hurry to visit one country every other day for 2 weeks. Rather absurd actually. I'll say this is a troll.

Keep in mind that children's senses are more sensitive than those of adults.

1-2 days per stop is going to be a whirl of new sights, sounds, smells, etc.

3 weeks on the road is going to be tiring to a child.

I think that an 8-yr old would be more likely to enjoy no more than two places per week.

You might want to consider starting in London, training to Paris, to Lausanne, to Venice, to Vienna and flying to Kiev.

That gives you 5 places to visit in 3 weeks.

I still think it would be difficult with an 8-yr old, but doable if carefully planned.
