Travel to Capri

We are going to be driving to Sorrento. Should/Can we take our car over on a ferry. Anyone with experience driving on Capri? Suggestions?
Thanks...

This page has the regulations about bringing a car to Capri. It's a very small island with buses and taxis and it's not a good idea to try to bring a car.

You'll have to leave your car in Sorrento (Garage Marina Piccola - Porto di Sorrento - Tel. 081/8781306 - near the harbor).

You'd not want to have it on the Isle no matter what...

Not only what the above posters have said, but if the car you are driving is a rental, most contracts say you can not bring them on ferrys.

definetly dont bring your car.
There are buses, and trams.
Or if you want to drive all the way around the island, you can rent a moped - or take a tour by taxi.

Gee, I am glad I didn't know that you could/should not take a rental car on the ferry. We did it from Varenna to Mennagio on Lake Como. It saved us a lot of driving!!! I later read it in the contract.
