Travel to Capri
We are going to be driving to Sorrento. Should/Can we take our car over on a ferry. Anyone with experience driving on Capri? Suggestions?
Thanks... |

This page has the regulations about bringing a car to Capri. It's a very small island with buses and taxis and it's not a good idea to try to bring a car. |
You'll have to leave your car in Sorrento (Garage Marina Piccola - Porto di Sorrento - Tel. 081/8781306 - near the harbor).
You'd not want to have it on the Isle no matter what... |
DO NOT take a car to Capri!!!!

Not only what the above posters have said, but if the car you are driving is a rental, most contracts say you can not bring them on ferrys.
|
definetly dont bring your car.
There are buses, and trams. Or if you want to drive all the way around the island, you can rent a moped - or take a tour by taxi. |
Gee, I am glad I didn't know that you could/should not take a rental car on the ferry. We did it from Varenna to Mennagio on Lake Como. It saved us a lot of driving!!! I later read it in the contract.
