Travel Time

Assuming we are travelling by train, can someone please advise as to the approximate travel times as follows:

London to Paris
Paris to Cinque Terre
Paris to Venice
Cinque Terre to Venice
Venice to Florence
Florence to Rome

Also - assuming we go straight from Paris to Venice - would you suggest flying or train

May I suggest that you do your own research?

lol, this looks like one of those Math problems I used to hate!
I only know London to Paris by train is almost 3 hours. The trip from Florence to Rome is about 3-4 hours, I think..assuming you go straight from Paris to Venice- I would fly.
I never really like to spend a lot of time Getting there, I would rather Be there longer.
Good luck!

I am with Scarlett, those icky math test, LOL.

Venice to Florence by train takes 3 hours.
Florence to Rome will take a couple of hours.

If going straight from Paris to Venice I would fly.

Have fun planning your trip!

LOL, LoveItaly, I guess during Math class, I was thinking about something else :D

I was confused about the train times, we were flying into Milan, then to Florence, train from Florence to Rome..I thought that was a longer train ride.
A trip that is still waiting to be taken!

If Eloise leaves London on the Eurostar at the same time that Scarlett arrives in Paris CDG, will LoveItaly be sipping wine in Florence or or eating pasta in Rome?

This rough map might be of help in approximating your travel times:

LOL, ipod robbie, Scarlett shuddering at the memory! :)

LoveItaly May 30th, 2005 04:53 PM

Hi ipod_Robbie, LOL.

Well I could sip the wine in Florence and then get on the train to Rome and eat the pasta there!! That sounds workable to me.

Do you all remember those stupid math questions. If a train going west is going at 50 mph and a train going east is going 30 mph and the journey is 40 mph at what point will they meet blah blah blah. Or something like that!! Hated those test!

Scarlett, maybe the train you and Yankee were going to take from Florence to Rome was the milk run?
