Travel Socks et al

Aloha,
I'll be travelling from Honolulu - LAX - London and am intereste in getting some of the travel socks I've read about; they're supposed to help the blood circulate in your legs and feet. Can anyone offer suggestions on where to get them (for a man)?

I'm also looking for a money belt....can anyone offer insight on a money belt vs a money chest belt? Good vs bad???

Finally, an recommendations for non-prescription sleeping pills? I've used Tylenol PM before, but it makes the muscles in my legs ache and gives me "jimmy" legs!

Hello Kaneohe, you have an answer about the money belt. And personally I think a money belt is the most comfortable thing to wear.

Regarding the travel socks and non prescription sleeping pills, may I suggest that you talk to your doctor about these questions. I think that would be the best thing to do.

Have a happy and healthy trip. Mahalo

Magellan's has the socks and money belts and pouches. I prefer the soft leather pouch where I can put the string around my neck and drop it inside my shirt; its easier to get to when I need it.

I ask my doctor about the travel socks, my ancle swelled on a flight, and he said: absolutely not, you don't want to wear anything tight, only lose socks and clothes. He advised to exercise during a flight, drink water (not soda!) and walk as often as possible.

Google for "in-flight exercise".

Money belts are great, the only thing I don't like about them - they look bulky and visible under your summer dress. For colder times they are perfect.

Kaneohe-

Long's sells compression socks. My mother bought a pair at a trade show at the Blaisdell a few months ago, and the vendor said they were available at Long's. Not sure if they're carried at all of the stores - but probably the Ala Moana store would have them.

I forget the brand name - I'll see if I can ask my mother - but they were about $15 a pair. The socks are unisex and came in black, navy and white. I think there were several lengths too - the knee high ones being $15.
