Travel Plans! Fodorites, WHERE to next? :-D

Summertime is in full swing and so far it has been filled with (rain!) and day trips to beautiful areas in the Northeast USA (Acadia National Park in Maine: BREATHTAKING!!).

I am always 3-4 trips ahead and so far it looks like this:

APRIL 2007: Spain w/Sister
JUNE 2007: Bologna, Italy (Work Conference)
JULY 2007: Ireland (Anniversary)
DECEMBER 2007: Australia (Mutual Christmas Present)

We also daytrip to Montreal during the summer, etc... WHAT DOES YOUR TRAVEL AGENDA LOOKS LIKE?

Copenhagen, Summer 2007
Capetown, Summer 2007 (this actually has a grain of reality!)

Well, just got back from Ireland two weeks ago, so we'll catch our financial breath for the most of the next year. However:

Sep 2006, Atlanta, GA (www.dragoncon.org)
May 2006, Maine (visiting the inlaws)

One of the following:
July 2007: Scandinavia
Sep 2007: northern Italy

I've decided to aim for a big 2007 trip:

March 20-May 1: Italy
May 1-31st: Croatia

Something along those lines. I'm thinking of fitting a week of France in there. Here's to hoping for fabulous hiking and incredible scuba diving

I've already started planning and I'm not even done my trip report from my last European sojourn...you guys are a bad influence (or a good influence, I'm not sure which)

Cheers,

Murphy

Still trying to wrap my brain around the right trip, immediately after Thanksgiving (in other words, depart Friday, Nov 24). Fodorites' trip, anyone? to anywhere?

Best wishes,

Rex

November/December - Australia, to visit the family.

2007
Might be taking all three of my kids to Oz. If not, then I'd like to take my son (who will be two) to somewhere in Europe for a 'slow trav' kind of week.

Long weekend in Malmesbury in August; South West France for a week in September; and for Christmas and New Year.

And Cape Cod next summer, I think.

I have to do something in February but I don't know what yet.

BOBTHE NAV-- New Zealand!!! How fab!! I heard so many incredible things about NZ. Have a great time planning!

PM-- Quite understandable the possible switch to China instead of Israel.

GreenDragon-- you can't go wrong with anyone of the two options you have for 2007!!

Rex-- Southern Spain/Lisbon after Thanksgiving would be my suggestion. Then again, there is ALWAYS Paris...!

Sheila--- if you are anywhere near Upstate NY next Summer, feel free to stop over!! We'll grill some burgers and talk travel!

Back in 94-95 this forum was almost 99% France, Germany and some Ireland. Fast forward 2006 and it is Croatia, New Zealand, China, Scandinavia. HOW COOL IS THAT!=D>

I love to see where everyone is going--it gives me more trip ideas to wish for!

September 2006 - New England (Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont)

May, 2007 - Greece (islands and possibly Peloponesse)

May, 2008 - Italy (Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, maybe Piedmont)

Then, big 10th wedding anniversary in September 2009--not sure--thinking maybe Cook Islands or Fiji, but Amalfi Coast/Sicily is calling my name as well!!
