Travel Munich to Frankfurt
We finish a tour in Munich on 1July07.We then need to travel to Frankfurt to get a flight back home on 2July at 12 noon from Frankfurt airport.
Can i have advise on the best way to make this connection .Thanks |
The most convenient way to go is by rail. There are several ICE trains daily Munich direct to the Frankfurt airport. It is circa 5 hours. Try www.bahn.de for info and tickets. Reservations are not required but you might want to book your seats for a critical trip like this. |

The ICE trains make the run in just over three hours. The regular 2nd class fare is 81 EUR. Right now there are Fruehling-Spezial fares starting at 29 EUR, but I don't know how long they'll be offered. See the timetables and fares at www.bahn.de.

The ICE trains in Germany are very nice for travel. I always buy a 1st class ticket, after having to sit on my suitcase for two hours in 2nd class one time years ago.
You can stay right across from the main train station in Frankfurt at the InterCity Hotel. They are not lux, the rooms are small but comfortable, and the buffet breakfast is adequate. The price is more reasonable than a hotel right at FRA, I would think. You can ask for a free pass on the trams for the time during your stay. That will allow you to go into other parts of the city at no cost. Plus, your trip to FRA is also free with this pass. Just ask at the desk when you check in. |
