travel insurance
We have never used travel insurance before but with 92 year old parents we think it is a smart idea. We have looked at several but they seem quite high. Our credit card does not seem to be adequate. Any thoughts or suggestions from those who have used it. Guess we are showing our age to be doing this!

I've used Travel Guard (travelguard.com) for years. Had to file a claim once and got my money back.
I also bought it for my (then) 86-year old father in Spring 2006. I had to pay quite a bit more for his portion of the insurance than I had to pay for my own as I'm in my early 50s. Happy Travels!

I've found www.insuremytrip.com a good place to compare and purchase policies. Others have recommended www.theinsurancestore.com

I always buy mine through STA Travel. I think if you buy it within 14 days of purchasing your ticket, they waive any pre-existing conditions on your trip. For my upcoming 18-day trip, it was $100 a person. (and you don't have to be a student to buy it through them)

This is mentioned previously. You can compare as many as you want, pick and choose the coverages that you want.
I would never travel without it. The lodging and air is not the important part, but the medical/medical evacuation should be a must for everyone. It is not only needed for the elderly!
Pre-existing waiver is with most of them, if purchasing within a certain time period.
