I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Croatia (then Yugoslavia) before the war, in 1984. The old city of Dubrovnik is a must see, with its walled city and beautiful position on The Adriatic Sea. Also the fyord just south of Dubrovnik at Kotor is well worth the trip. There is a beautiful hotel on the coast between the two areas, aptly called the Hotel Croatia that was very classy; hopefully it survived the war. We didn't ravel into Slovenia at all on this trip-enjoy!

I'm a student from Slovenia and I saw your question on the bulletin board. I think that Slovenia has a lot to offer, specially the nature here is beautiful. Maybe it would be helpful to you if you check slovenian web site: www.creativ.si. You can find all information about Slovenia and you can book your hotel. I hope you'll enjoy your stay in Slovenia.
