We'll be in Nice 5 nights middle of July.

If you had to bet on your best choice of bars/live music venues with highest chances of something of this nature (celebrity appearance/ red-bull not required...), where would you recommend for a late night, music oriented, fun, international (assuming that's everywhere of course) atmosphere in or out of town (<10km)?

Can't help with finding celebs - but if you look at some of the european celeb magazines it will tell you which are the hot night spots this summer. Not sure how many will be in Nice versus Monte Carlo or Cap d'Antibes or St Tropez.

But don;t be surprised if the places are very expensive and have doorkeeers carefully weeding out who is allowed to enter (as in any large city).

I don't think celebrities hang out in Nice as a big hot spot.

They are in St Tropez, Cannes, Cap d'Antibes, Monaco or any of the restaurants on the water in Villefranche or Beaulieur-sur-Mer. Elton John lives in Villefranche and so does Tina Turner and Keith Richards (when they are there, anyway), most live west of Nice, Eze-sur-Mer is very popular as a celebrity residential area (Bono has a villa there). I suspect those celebrities aren't going out to bars, though, for the most part. La Petite Maison is a restaurant in Nice where celebrities may be sighted. hi all, thanks for the insights. wasn't seriously hoping to score any celeb sightings...more just inquiring as to the live-music, festive, music places for a fri/sat night in or near Nice. That video with Chris Martin showing up in an Indian bar was just a bit of inspiration to search out a few late night fun spots.
