Travel guide paris
Could anyone suggest a good travel guide for Paris.
"Paris Optimizer 2015-Your Best Use of Time and Money in the City of Lights" If any one has read it, is it good? |
Are you looking for a tour guide or a guidebook? If the latter, we really like the Michelin Green Guide to Paris.

Yup
Michelin green guide - written by frenchs and translated. For restaurants and hotels, you have the red guide Michelin, unless it is not translated. |
I don't really like Michelin guides that way for usability, although they can have some good detailed information on sites, probably a little more than some more general guidebooks. I don't like the way they are organized when they are for the country. In fact, that isn't even very useful when just for a city. LIke the Paris one, will have neighborhoods and sites listed alphabetically rather than by area (Auteil, Bastille, Beaubourg, ...
I know Paris pretty well so don't use a guidebook any more, but in general, I think Fodors, Frommers and Lonely Planet all do a pretty good job, some shine more in some countries than others. I also like Cadogan guides but they not be quiet as user-friendly as some others, but good info. Not as good for hotel, etc recommendations. I don't like Rick Steves for France, although he can be okay in some other countries, like Switzerland. I hate Eyewitness guidebooks, think they are the worst in terms of content. Let's Go is good for younger people. |
Since you are freeloading on this site, you owe it to them to look up the listings under Destinations, on the top left of the screen.
