Travel from Spain to Rome by Train: I haven't a clue!

Jump to last reply

How do I go about traveling from Madrid, Spain to Rome, Italy? My husband wants us to take the train because according to him "you just have to see the scenery". I would rather take a plane, and not waste time on a train looking at "greenery". Maybe I'm wrong...anyways...

I went to look on the eurorail website and I couldn't figure out how to get from Madrid to Rome.

My questions are:
1) How many stops should there be (I'm guessing there is no direct train there) and what are they?
2) How long should this trip take?
3) How much should this trip cost?
4) Is it really worth the train ride, or should we just take a plane? Is the trip by train really that 'amazing'?
