Travel from Selcuk to Cappadocia

We will be in Turkey for three weeks in late October and early November. I am trying to make plane reservations from Istanbul to Izmir and from Neveshir to Istanbul about a week apart. We want to spend two days in Selcuk then make our way to Pammukkale and then on to Goreme and Urgup. I am working hard on this, but am having a difficult time figuring out the best way to travel. I prefer not to drive and would like to do public transportation. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello
We shall do the same trip next tuesday.
Fly from Istanbul (Nice + Zurich first) to Izmir. Airport pick up by hotel car. Two nights in Selcuk (Ephèse), bus to Pamukkale (two nights) and back to Izmir by bus. Two nights stay in Izmir (visit of Pergamon) and flight to Ankara (cheap) then bus to Urgup for a five nights stay then flight to Istanbul (three nights) before flying to french riviera.
During the trip preparation, i realized that Pamukkale and Cappadocia are far away and would have been obliged to make a stopover in either Egirdir or Bursa.
As you, i preferred not to drive.

If I may make a correction, Bursa has nothing to do with Cappadocia, and stops between cities does not include this lovely town.

Best ways to travel from to Pamukkale :

If Ephesus is in the picture, Pamukkale, Ephesus and Flight from Izmir either direct or via Istanbul.

Pamukkale to Istanbul by train or plane and further to Nevsehir or Kayseri airports.

Pamukkale to Cappadocia, self drive, driven or night buses.

Happy travelling,
Murat

i never wrote that Bursa had to do with Cappadocia. I wrote (or intend to say) that Bursa was a potential place for a stop over.

EZE: Did you purchase the airfare on line? I am also trying to do that, but Atlas Air reverts to Turkish once i pick the flights, so I can't enter my credit card info. Any ideas?

Well, we bought our tickets through a turkish travel agent recommended by
www.turkeytravelplanner.com.
The name of the travel agent is argeus based in urgup.I sent a mail explaining my needs and everything went very easily and smoothly. I'll tell you more when i am back ( i leave to morrow...)

PS : we bought istanbul/izmir/ankara/istanbul tickets by the same company.
Nice/Istanbul by Swiss was bought on the net through Expedia as usual.

Hi Eze,
I understand about Bursa is a nice place to stop over but my intention was to say Bursa is not at all in the direction of posters itinerary.
Since gpotvin is flying to Izmir than their travels are inland.

Have a good time in Turkey and actually good weather is awaiting you.....

Happy travelling,
Murat

Nejat, is the schedule for Fall/winter already available? I am trying to book also but was advised that schedules are not available yet.

Thanks to all. We have decided to fly to Cappadocia, which requires returning to Istanbul from Izmir and changing planes. We will do all the sights around Selcuk and Pammulke and then head out.
