Travel from Santorini to Meteora
Hi. Can anyone please tell me the easiest and fastest way to travel from Santorini to Meteora? We want to see Meteora, Delphi, and Olympia after we leave Santorini and before we go to Athens. Thank you.

I did similar trip in the reverse a couple of years ago. Fly from Santorini to Athens. I took a 5 day classical tour that included the 3 stops + others. Meteora was important on my list. It was the last city on the tour and was a long, boring drive from Delphi and then to Athens as I recall.

While we did that trip with a rental car Jackie makes a good point. That classical tour by bus means the professionals do the driving.

I haven't done it yet, but we hired a guide to take us to Delphi and Meteora from Athens (we are planning on spending two nights on the road) I can't vouch for them yet, but we are working with PK travel, so far they have been helpful and quick getting back to us.

Personaly I like my fexibility and find multi-day organised tours boring and too rushed on sites, but everyone travels differently. If money was not an issue I would book private transport from Meteora to Delphi which is the most time consuming and complicated route to do on publish transport. The other legs of the trip are fairly easy and convenient on public transport.
I would get train Athens to Kalambaka, then private transfer Meteora to Delphi, then public bus Delphi to Athens. https://tickets.trainose.gr/dromologia/ for train schedules Athens-Kalambaka This is a local Meteora travel agency offering local tours, activities and transfers https://www.visitmeteora.travel/en/t...ivate-transfer There might be other options too, I don't know. Public bus Delphi-Athens (Press + symbol next to Routes tab to see Winter/Summer schedules accordingly) http://www.ktel-fokidas.gr/en/delfi |
Fastest (and most expensive way): direct flight to Thessaloniki plus car with driver
