Travel from Priano to Rome airport

I will be in Priano, but my flight is out of Rome at 1240 pm. What is the best way to travel from Priano to Rome and how long does it take? Should I rent a car?

I can't answer your question entirely, but I will tell you that we were recently in Praiano. We did rent a car for the week but our friend drove because he is European and has driven in Italy before. It took us about an hour and a half from Naples to Praiano. The only difficulty we had was in Castellamare. We had a GPS and even that had difficulty in that town. Crazy trying to get through that town.

Probably the most hassle free way would be to hire a driver. Hopefully someone else has good info for you regarding alternatives such as the train. Considering the time you have to be at the airport I would do a transfer. I would think you would have to go into Naples to get a train to Rome, but maybe someone knows if you could get it in Sorrento. That would sure be a lot easier. Have a good trip!

Hopefully someone more experienced with Italy will read your request and have more info.

CE,

I've stayed in Praiano twice on trips and it takes longer to travel between the town and Rome than you think!

If you cannot hire a private driver (would be at least about $300 USD) and leave VERY early, then you should plan to stay in Rome your last night! You need to be at FCO at least 2.5 hours before departure!

Hi CE - The 07.10 Hi-speed train from Naples (- via Roma Termini) gets you to FCO at 09.23.

You would need to book an early taxi/limo transfer from Praiano to Naples (Napoli Centrale) station.

As smacknmo says, local Praiano/Positano limo companies include:

www.benvenutolimos.com
www.positanocarservice.com
www.flaviogioia.com
www.limocarservice.net

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Hi C,

>I will be in Priano, but my flight is out of Rome at 1240 pm. <

The safest way is to spend the night in Rome.

You will have to be at FCO by 9:40, which means that you have to catch the 8:52 from FCO.

To do that, you have to be on the 06:24 out of Naples, which means that you have to have a limo pick you up at about 05:15.

So .. what's wrong with the 07.10 AV, Ira?

Just curious ...
