Travel from Portugal to Morocco
In September I am travelling from Portugal to Morocco. Can anyone advise me on the best city to depart from in Portugal e.g. Lison? to arrive in Marrakesh. Is it best to fly- and if so- which airlines travel this route? Is it better to travel into Spain by train and make our way to Marrakesh from there? I appreciate any advice that can be shared. Thank you.

We did this a couple of years ago and flew Lisbon to Marrakesh via Madrid, on Iberia. Depending on your Portugal itinerary I believe you could do Porto-Madrid-Marrakesh as well.

Thanks for your reply. We are going to Spain after Morocco so we are trying to avoid the extra time that a flight would take to go via Madrid.

Good luck with your itinerary, Portugal and Morocco are two favorites of ours. I do not believe there are any direct flights between the two countries, however.
You won't get from Portugal to southern Spain to connect to Morocco by train, you could go by bus or car but not if you're interested in a brief transit time. I still suggest the quickest transfer is through Madrid--our trip left Lisbon about 8 or 9 AM and we were in Marrakesh just after noon. The airlines to research are: Iberia, Royal Air Maroc, and possibly Ryanair. Good luck, maytraveller |
TAP Portugal now has direct flights to Marrakech.
I believe Royal Air Maroc also still has Lisbon-Casablanca flights. |
Thank you for your replies. I'll investigate further.

You can also buy a package (flight+hotel) from a local agent; lots to choose from http://www.logitravel.pt/viagem-medi...s-2124067.html
