Travel from London Heathrow to Belfast

I am trying to determine what my options are for transportation from London Heathrow airport to Belfast in Northern Ireland. I will have one large suitcase and a hanging bag, so I'm looking for something easy, yet I also am on a budget. That's why I'd like to know some different options so I can weigh ease and price.

Also, I will be arriving at 9:10 pm in London and would like to get to Belfast that night if it's possible. I'm not sure if anything leaves that late at night? I have a meeting in Belfast the next morning, so I'd like to leave that night. But any advice you can give is appreciated!

I don't think you can get there the same night. The last flight from LHR leaves before you land. What time is your meeting? You'll have to book a hotel at LHR and a very early AM flight out.

Are there other options like buses or trains?

You are going to be at LHR west of London. Belfast is across two countries and a body of water so no, there are no trains/buses. Now, there are combinations of buses/trains/ferries you could take, but they take basically an entire day and you wouldn't be able to even start the journey until the next morning.

So you are sort of stuck. Did you look at a map before deciding to fly into LHR late at night for a morning meeting in Belfast?

BMI has a flight (BD080) at 07:00 from terminal 1, arriving Belfast City (BHD)at 08:15. It is code shared with Lufthansa and Virgin Atlantic. That is your only choice, as Janis said.

Be Aware!! Short haul flights are not baggage friendly so you need to pack according to the baggage restrictions of this flight.

BMI fly to Belfast City and Aer Lingus fly to Belfast International. From LHR

Aer Lingus have a late flight into Dublin, from there you would get the Goldline bus to Belfast city.

Tony2phones: AFAIK, AerLingus' "late" flight is at 9:10 PM (the same time the OP lands at LHR). So that really isn't an option.

Why didn't you book a flight to Belfast (or Dublin at a pince) from home in the first place?

It would have given you more routing options - eg via Paris or Amsterdam and wouldn't have left you in the situation of being several hundred miles from your actual destination.
