travel from Limoge to Nice

We will have 5 days in Paris and then take a train to Limoge. We will be renting a car in Limoge and will wander down to Nice before flying home. Do you have any suggestions for especially pretty routes or places not to miss?

How much time do you have between Limoges and Nice? If lots, then there are plenty of scenic routes. If you only have a couple of days, I wouldn't do it as it'll be autoroute all the way and hardly scenic. Why Limoges anyway?

Is there a better suggestion for that area? We have about six days to travel from the Loire Valley area to Nice before we fly home. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go through the Massif Central.

I believe that the Michelin Green Guide for the Auvergne now exists in English. It did not in 1992 because too few English speaking tourists went to that region.

I thought you were taking a train from Paris to Limoges. How does the Loire fit into your plans? Do you have a map?

Not far from Limoges is Oradour-sur-Glane, a village that was destroyed by the Nazis and which the French have left as it was. It's an incredible story and a site that you will not soon forget. There's also a wonderful museum there that explains all the history behind the events that occurred in that time. It was one of the highlights of our last visit to that area.
