Travel from Dublin Airport to Sligo City

Hi...This will be my first trip back to Ireland in 17 years. Now that I am a senior (68) I do not want to drive in Ireland on this trip (traveling on my own). Given recent health limitations (get tired very easily), I really want to make this trip very easy for me. Not concerned about expense. I plan to fly into Dublin Airport and stay somewhere for 1-2 nights before I head to my family in Sligo. My focus is to visit family but I wouldn't mind a lovely dinner, real comfort & service and a good sleep before journeying to Sligo. Here are my questions:
1. What 's the best way to get to Sligo City...train(travel time?) or bus (frequent stops?)? Can you leave right from the airport?
2. If I stay overnight, should I stay at the airport hotel or go into Dublin for an overnight. Is that too much of a hassle? Is their public transportation into Dublin from the airport?
3. I would prefer a train (I think) to Sligo...more relaxing. Is that very convenient from the airport or is it best to go into Dublin to get the train?
4. What is an excellent hotel you would suggest in Dublin? Should it be close to the train or bus station for convenience? Would you eat in or go out for dinner?
I appreciate any advice. Thanks for your time.

You have to come into the city to get the train so should spend the night and enjoy.
Many trains to Sligo so should be easy from Connolly Station. We normally take the bus into the city. When you pick your hotel we could help you with that.

Ok, did it. It just didn't like the links I posted. I picked that one hotel because it is close to Connolly Station. I would eat out. We have a list of new places to try this next trip.

#1 I would go by train. About 3 hours, from Dublin Connolly station (but not from airport).
#2 You should stay in downtown, to make your journey to Connolly station easier. There are frequent buses from the airport to downtown.
#3 As I said, the train leaves from Connolly station.
#4 This is such a personal choice. There are many hotels close to Connelly station, which will make it convenient. There are very many places to eat so you aren't restricted to hotel dining room.

Thanks for the comments. Is Connolly station different than the Heuston Station?

Yes, they go in different directions. You need Connolly for the Sligo trip.
