Travel From Copenhagen-late October

My 21 year old daughter is studying in Copenhagen this August - December. I plan on visiting her the last week of October when she has a break. I will plan to spend 2 nights in Copenhagen to meet her host family, see where she has been living and learning. Then, we'd like to travel together for the next 4-5 nights to see another part of Europe - either by train or budget airplane. She will have visited Prague and Berlin with her program in September. We have already traveled through Italy and Spain the past two summers....so somewhere different. Interested in mild weather, great food, walkable cities. One location would be fine if it would serve for day trips to interesting spots.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Our son spent a semester in Copenhagen this past fall and we also took the opportunity to go visit during the October break. I know you asked for somewhere with mild weather, but you might consider Norway. That is where we went and we loved it! It was really nice to be able to visit during a time with few visitors, so no crowds etc even on the Norway In A Nutshell. Back to your request though, if you want mild weather etc then definitely consider Lisbon. Whatever you choose, have a great trip! It is so fun to be able to see our kids in new environments and to see them thrive

thanks everyone for your suggestions, and mms for your experience with your own study abroad visit - good idea to consider Norway.
