travel from Barcelona to Milan?

Hi there,
I'm planning to traveling from Barcelona to Morbegno, IT (NE of Milan) in late March. I'd like to spend some time going around Provence along the way. Does anybody have suggestions on the best way to do this? Thanks
Mel

if you hire a car you will have to return it back to Spain or face a heavy repatriation charge. Are you doing a circular tour?

You can fly on Vueling discount airline from Barcelona (their hub) to Nice for 50 E.
(By way of contrast, the standard fare from Barcelona to Marseille is 79E50.)
You could rent a car in Nice for a few days.
You can travel by train from Nice to Milan in around 5 hours.

You can also travel overnight by rail Barceloa-Milan

thank you. I'm not doing a circular tour...I would like to hire a car around Provence though. Maybe train-car-train or flight-car-train is the best way...
cheers
