Travel from Athens Airport to Athens after midnight
Hi, We arrive in Athens in two days at midnight - i've seen that the bus X95 runs 24 hours, but likely after picking up our checked luggage etc, we won't be catching a bus until close to 1am. Our hotel is about 6-8 blocks from the Syntagma drop off - is it safe to walk with luggage that late at night? Or is it easy to catch a cab within the Plaka district that late at night? Or should we just pay for the 55 eu taxi fair from the airport and skip the bus ride? We only have one day in Athens (the next day) so, after a 16 hour flight...I'm wondering if we should just take a taxi...
Thanks!
Thanks!

That's a real easy walk from the bus stop, only about 5-10 minutes. The bus stops alongside Syntagma Square. Walk _down_ to the corner, cross the street and continue on down Mitropoleos Street 4 blocks to Patroou Street. Turn left. Walk to the end of the block. The Hermes will be right in front of you.

Absolutely agree with BLL, walking it will probably be quicker than getting a taxi! From the bus stop, the walk is only 300 metres before you turn up Patroou Street, which is only then another 70 metres to the hotel.
