Travel Clothes
Does anyone know of a maker of good (are you ready for this?) travel underware? Yes, bras and panties. I took all my wonderful cotton stuff last year by Jockey and of course it did not dry overnight. Any suggestions?

Well, do a search because I know this has been discussed many times before, but for my trip next week I went to Walmart and bought Hanes microfiber briefs. There is also a brand called Love Pats also carried by Walmart. Either or both will be fine. They are quite comfortable and will dry in hours. I'm pretty sure they also carry a line of microfiber bras too.

Good luck.

Yes, Karen, Travelsmith and others make a type of underwear that does dry rather fast. It's still a tad damp in the morning, but wearable.

My problem is athletic socks--socks take up loads of room in the suitcase, and if one is doing hiking/biking trips, the bulk can add up. If we're staying in a place two nights, I'm OK--I can at least get a pair dry over two nights. If you've had success at socks, post quickly!

Karen
At home I save up underwear and socks that are still minimally functional but are worn out or otherwise no longer desirable to wear.
I wear it once, and throw it out as I go.
The good ones that I pack I save for the last days of my trip so that I don't have to keep used socks or underwear in my suitcase too long. If I wash them near the end of the trip and they stay damp, I put them in an extra plastic baggie and take them home or on to the next place damp. I find that my bras will dry overnight, but I would think certainly by the end of the next day they'd be dry.

I think any store that sells female underwear will sell synthetic styles in addition to cotton. There are tons of microfiber bras and panties on the market, which dries very shortly. You don't need to buy special travel underwear. There are expensive as well as very cheap brands, just go to any discount store, Penneys, Sears, Kohls, Kmart, and midlevel dept stores, etc. Microfiber is very popular now and readily available. In fact, Jockey makes a line of it, as well as Hanes, Barely There is a brand I like, also (I think it is owned by Olga or Bali). I also like silk underwear, it dries very quickly.
