Travel alarm clocks
 

Can anyone recommend a make of reliable travel alarm clocks? This follows recent instances with an unreliable model which was just too fiddly to get working reliably!

What I want is a compact, digital, reliable alarm clock.

Any recommendations? And if any are North American makes could the poster indicate where they can be purchased in the US or Canada as I am in the UK

I used the alarm on my cellphone while I was in Europe. It did the job perfectly. Otherwise, does your watch have an alarm, thats another good idea rather than having to lug an alarm clock around with you.

I like my RadioSchack alarm clock. Does the company exist in the UK?

We used my husband's Palm Pilot on the last trip. It worked great.

I have always used my digital watch, but I place it on a surface where it is certain to make extra noise if necessary. As it turns out, I always wake up before the alarm goes off.

I rarely use one but my Braun clock has been in perfect working order for about 25 years. You could probably get a similar, albeit newer, model in the UK.

ooops. It is not a digital. But it certainly tells the time!

Brookstone has a bunch of compact alarm clocks. I use mine for traveling and it hasn't failed me yet...

I have one from Sharper Image that I really like.

Meanwhile the thing I don't like about most of them is that they don't stay lit at night so you can't see what time it is. (at least not if they are running on battery). Usually they have a button you push to make them light up. But that button is often right next to the one that turns the alarm on or off or changes the time, so in the dark you have a good chance of accidentally changing the time or turning the alarm off when you try to see what time it is.
