Transporting laduree pryamids
 

Hello everyone,

I am planning to purchase 2-3 towers of Laduree Macarons for my brother's wedding. Each would be about 62 centimeters high. I was wondering how can I transport these delicious towers back to the states?

Buy two or three airplane seats for them?

Seriously, I think you will have to buy the macarons flat = even then, they will be fragile and perhaps too bulky to comply with carry-on regulations - and find someone in the States to "mount" them. Laduree might - or might not - be prepared to sell you the "glue" you will need.

While Lauduree's macarons are delicious the shelf life is only one or two days at the most. They will be stale for the wedding.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Where is the wedding? If in the US, there are alternatives that can come close to the quality.

Buy them , eat them but tell them your intentions were good . Take a photo .

Macarons lose their pizzazz after about a week.

Laduree and all the other macaroons I know of will be diminished in taste and texture within two days of purchase. After a week you could always give the sparrows a treat.

If you are from the US and are set on the idea, Bouchon Bakery in New York makes a wonderful version. You can also try Payard, linked above.

Either place might ship them overnight within the US.
