Transportation to Monte Carlo
My husband has a conference in Monte Carlo. From the U.S. what would be the best flight arrangements? To Paris and then to Nice seems the most obvious but would another connection be just as easy? Also what about ground transportation to Monte Carlo? We have driven from Nice to Monte Carlo before so I know it's not too far. What would a taxi from Nice airport cost? Would a private car service that could be booked in advance be reasonable alternative? I don't think my husband is up for getting himself from an airport to a train station and then from a train station to a hotel after spending the night on the plane so we are looking more for convenience than price. Also my husband doesn't speak French at all.

Why mess about with trains? The bus (hourly, taking 45 mins) is just €23 return. http://tinyurl.com/nrsvl

You can ignore the idea that your husband doesn't speak French. That will be NO problem in either Nice or Monte Carlo, particularly in getting transportation.
Teach him "merci" and "bon jour", have him smile and they'll appreciate it.
I recently posted about this same question. As I said then, there is helicopter service which would be the way to go -- expense ignored.
The bus is definitely a better idea than the train due to making connections, but there aren't many express busses and we couldn't seem to find the new schedule for that. Meanwhile, if he doesn't mind the expense of 100 euro, a taxi is the way to go. It will also take him right to his hotel instead of worrying about getting there from the bus station in Monte Carlo.

If you have at least one night reservation with a hotel in Monaco (at a non discounted rack rate), then you and your spouse can be transported by helicopter from Nice airport to Monaco helipad for $55 by joining the Monaco Diamond club: http://www.visitmonaco.com/index.cfm...amp;pageId=422
