Transportation Recommendations in Spain
Hi,
4 of us are traveling in July to Barcelona, Pamplona and San Sebastian. I was wondering what the easiest method of transportation would be to get
- from Barcelona to Pamplona
- Pamplona to San Sebastian
- San Sebastian back to Barcelona (the couple we're traveling with is flying home out of Barcelona)
- San Sebastian to Paris (my husband and I are continuing on to Paris from San Sebastian)
I've mostly read that within Spain the train is our best option, but which train and how far out can we book?
Kim

Barcelona to Pamplona - you can book your train reservations on Renfe.com or at Petrabax.com, but the schedule is normally not updated until the first week of June. - If you are traveling during fiesta, buy your tickets as soon as they become available and take the 07h30 or 09h30 train.
Pamplona to San Sebastian - The quickest way would be to go by bus, the train takes over two hours, but with 4 people, it may be more comfortable to arrange a private transfer.
San Sebastian back to Barcelona - I would fly. You can check flights out of San Sebastián or Bilbao (more options).
San Sebastian to Paris - Take the train. You can purchase your tickets through Renfe.com, Petrabax.com or at SNCF (voyages-sncf.com).

Barcelona, Pamplona and San Sebastian in July is a classic and fabulous route, and you've gotten good advice on how to travel. Would only emphazise that the bus from Pamplona to San Sebastian is very frequent, convenient and affordable, some 60 minutes and 8€: https://www.alsa.es/en/home
But be prepared for a festive ride if you go during los sanfermines, a lot of people use San Sebastian as a base before and/or after the festival, and there are even many who use San Sebastian as a base during the festival. Always much San Fermin colours and atmosphere in San Sebastian on these dates, especially in the Parte vieja/Old town.
