Transportation Question

We are flying into Milan Malpensa Airport in May and from there going to Como. I assume train is our best option from the airport to Como? Or are there ride share services such as Uber or Lyft that might be a viable option?

Certainly train would work to Como. Don't know about the ride share services but you could check rome2rio for alternatives. I assume you are heading to Como, not one of the other towns around lake Como?

I used Uber in Milan but they only have Uber Black. It was great.

Define "best" option. Does cost matter? Cost would vary depending on your destination on the lake.

The drive Malpensa to Varenna is about 90 minutes. The train fare would be about 20 euros.

The drive Malpensa to Como (the town) is about 45 minutes, and the train fare is about 11/12 euros.

You can get a very loose estimate of Uber fares at:

I did that in November 2022. Arrived at Malpensa and took the train from there to Saronno and caught a train to Como. There are a few stations in Como so check where your accomodations are in relation to which station is better. I used rome2rio.com and it was spot on.
