transportation in turkey

what is the best way to see cappadocia?
rent a car or hire a guide
how are the roads to drive from site to site?

how long is the drive from cappadoocia to kusadesi are there any sites in between worth seeing?

are there any discount airlines that travel within turkey

At least allow yourself 3 days, more is better.... At least 1 day guided tour is recommended. You can trek on your own and see some other sites by driving yourself too. Having said that to hire a guide and visit places privately is always easy and nice....
To drive Kusadasi you need to break the drive somewhere in between, otherwise 12-13 hours driving....
You can also fly from Kayseri to Izmir which is 50 min. drive from Kusadasi....

Happy travelling,
Murat

How much time do you have? We loved driving in Turkey and found the roads in great condition, very uncrowded, and well marked. We flew to Keyseri and spent three nights in Ugrup in Cappodocia, then spent 9 days driving to Kusadasi, with stops in Konya, Lake Egridir (which I would have dropped), Antalya, Marmaris, Bodrum, and Dalyan.

Hi NeoPatrick, Why would you skip Egirdir if you had to do this trip again.

One tip if stopping in the Egirdir area be sure to see the historical site of Sagalassos and also the Burdur museum.

Large-scale excavations started in 1990 under the direction of Marc Waelkens of the Catholic University of Leuven.

A large number of buildings, monuments and other archaeological remains have been exposed, documenting the monumental aspect of the Hellenistic, Roman and early Byzantine history of this town.

This area was also featured in the November issue of Dutch National Geographic. http://www.nationalgeographic.nl/mag...=bekijkartikel

Here is the website for Sagalassos and links for more info about this area.
