transportation in Paris and London
We will be in Paris for 5 days then on to London for 4 more days. While in Paris, we would like to visit Normandy and Giverny... .any suggestions on buying rail passes? Is a pass beneficial for those two trips and then will I need a different pass to get to London?
Should I consider any other transportation?
Thanks..

There are no rail passes for Normandy and Giverny, and if you're going to be in Paris for only 5 days, you really shouldn't be heading out of the city for several days (which Giverny and Normandy would take). You just get tickets on the www.voyages-sncf.com site for those visits. The sooner you buy (starting 3 months out from you date of travel), the cheaper the tickets.
To get to London from Paris, you book on the Eurostar.

I would skip Normandy this time around, as it merits about a week's worth of time. Unless you just want to do an expensive 16-hour tour of the D-Day beaches from Paris and back, it's going to take a few days, a car rental (for the best experience) and some serious time to get the best of it. You don't have time for that.
Even Giverny is a half-day out of Paris, but I get wanting to get out of the city to see something different, even on a tight schedule.

I think your over extending. Pick one or the other for this trip. I was in Paris last June for 5 nights and hardly scratched the surface of all that is to see there. 9 days in Paris would be awesome! IMHO - ha!
