Transportation in Paris?
Can anyone please tell me the best way to get to Hauteville Opera hotel (5 minute away from Garde du Norde) from CDG? I am traveling with US Airways. Also, what kind of traveling pass should I get if I want to stay within paris but travel to different cities?

There is no travel pass that enables you to get around Paris and also other cities. What you will need for Paris will depend on how many days you are planning to be there, which days of the week, andhow much you plan to use public transportation.
To travel to other cities you will need train tickets. www.sncf.com

Well, sort of.
Either a Carte Orange or a Mobilis pass will allow you to get as far out of central Paris as the number of zones you buy.
But the CO is really for commuting from the outlying suburbs, and costs more than a casual user should pay. Single tickets are almost always more economical.
Here is a map of the zones and the towns they each cover (big pdf file):

Here is where to compare pass prices:

As others have said, take the RER B to Gare du Nord. For the least amount of walking, transfer to Metro line 4 (direction Porte d'Orlean) and take it one stop to Chateau d'Eau. However, it may actually be faster to simply walk from Gare du Nord to your hotel since you won't have to wait to change trains. In either case, the cost of a single ticket from CDG to central Paris is 8.10 EUR. Go to www.ratp.fr to download and print a Metro/RER map for central Paris and a RER map that shows service to outlying zones, including CDG. The site is viewable in English.

Thank you all for the advise..it's very helpful. This is my first trip to paris. I am looking at seeing the popular sites...louvre, eiffel tower, notre dame, champs elysees. I am sure there's so much more but I am so ovewhelmed and I don't know what's worth seeing or passing by. Any suggestions? Also, are there sites to get discounts on tickets...transportation, museums, tours...?

Also read the fodor's guide to Paris at this site.
Also...do a search here for Paris itinerary...or Paris museum pass...Paris 4 days...etc...
You will find enough to keep you reading for a long long time. Filter stuff out and give us an idea of your plans.
