Transportation from Salerno to Positano

Does anyone know if buses run to/from Salerno to Positano?

Hi S,

Yes, they do.

You change buses in Amalfi.

SITA bus schedules are at http://tinyurl.com/ybe6xk

Thanks, Ira.
Its probably easier and faster to take a train to Sorrento (instead of Salerno) then the bus from Sorrento to Positano. Thanks again.

Take the train to Salerno and ferry to Positano (or bus if you have to). The train from Naples to Sorrento is a commuter train (think subway) and makes many stops, no room for luggage, no reserved seats (dh stood the whole ride). If I were to do it again, I'd take the Salerno option.

Hi SB - Salerno-Positano is a nice option by ferry (- 70 mins) - but not by bus (- it takes twice as long )

Good advice; I never thought of the ferries. Unfortunately, I will not be in Positano until late September through October 1. I hear the ferries only run in the high season.

SB - Not so.

Salerno-Positano ferries run well into October - weather permitting. See:

Hope this helps ...

Sorry - wrong link. Here's the one for ferries from Salerno (- Piazza della Concordia):

Check after 15 Sept for the autumn timetable.
