Transportation from prague to vienna and visiting cesky k.
 

i woukd like to ask is it better to get to vienna by bus or train? and are there buses that depart from prague and make a stop at cesky krmolouv in their way to vienna or not?

I mean is the scenery from prague to vienna by train not to be missed?

Taking the bus or train depends on your comfort level. I hate being confined to a bus seat for hours. You can get up and move around on the train. Buses are usually cheaper then the train.

I took the train from Vienna to Prague a long time ago and don't remember anything special about the scenery. More recently I drove from Prague through southern Czech Republic and while the scenery was pleasant it was nothing to rave about. The route I drove would be approximately the route the train would take. Rolling hills and fields of rape. But if you go other than in spring you will see either brown or green fields. You'll see the same scenery from the bus or train as the landscape does not change very much.

We took the train from Vienna to Prague last week. Very comfy and I liked being able to get up and walk around a bit as the trip was 5 hours. It was nice to get a bite to eat in the restaurant car also. The scenery wasn't anything spectacular, I caught up on journaling for two of the hours. The train did not stop at Cesky Krumlov.

we did the reverse trip 2 weeks ago; we took the train from Vienna to Linz (~1hr), then picked up Sebastian Shuttle to Cesky Krumlov (~1.5hr). Stayed in CK for a night, then took the Student Agency bus to Prague (~3hr).

We could've taken the shuttle all the way from Vienna to CK, rather than going through Linz, but we preferred not to be stuck in a van for 3 hours, plus this got us into CK much earlier in the day.

The Student Agency bus to Prague was clean and VERY cheap. I don't remember any particularly remarkable scenery, just green rolling hills and plains.

NO bus is going to stop at Cesky Krumlov on a trip to Vienna, why would they do that, it isn't even in the same direction, not to mention how long that trip would take. I don't even know if they have buses from Prague to Vienna, maybe some big line does (Eurolines?), but I'd take the train. The scenery is just pleasant countryside, farms, etc., but it would be the same from bus or train pretty much.

I took a bus from Prague to C. Krumlov. Then the Lobo Shuttle from C. Krumlov to Linz (I understand they now go directly to Vienna also.) And, finally, a train from Linz to Vienna.

I will be making the same Vienna to Prague trip on train. How did you purchase your tickets? I was informed I can purchase discounted tickets online at OEBB, but that can mean very little. For example one can potentially purchase online tickets at SNCF or at RENFE using a CC from the USA, but whether one actually succeeds completing the purchase depends on many factors. Some narrowly think that it has only to do with your bank authorizing the charge, but posted observations point to many reasons for rejections.

We actually had Eurail Flex Passes because we took 4 very long train trips and it was a better deal for us. I'm sorry I can't help you further.
