transportation from Prague to Cesky Krumlov

Looking for suggestion on best mode of transpotration--I am leaning towards a shuttle bus or private car--anyone have any recommendations of best company to use?

I used Lobo Shuttle from CK to Linz. They were very good. I understand they now have additional routes including Prague to CK.

There's a direct express train from Prague now (once a day?), though as I understand it the train station is a tad outside of the center of Cesky Krumlov. I think there is still regular, direct bus service (e.g. Student Agency buses) that will drop you closer to the center of town. But because I love trains, I'd surely take the train.

We were very happy with Mike's Chauffeur, website below. We had a transfer from Prague to Salzburg, stopping for a few hours in Cesky Krumlov. Very nice driver, interesting to chat with. https://mike-chauffeur.cz

We also used Mike's Chauffer when transferring from Prague to Passau for a river cruise. We stopped in Cesky Krumlov for a tour and lunch. I would also recommend the company.

Just hop on the train!!!

It only costs 195 czk (€7.50) each way if you pre-book at Czech Railways www.cd.cz valid on any train that day.

You simply print your own tickets.

Trains link Prague's main Hlavni station in the city centre with Cesky Krumov every couple of hours, usually with one easy change from express to branch line train at Ceske Budejovice - better known by it's former Germanic name, Budweis. Yes that's right, where the name of the beer comes from!

However, you'll find a direct express from Prague to Cesky Krumlov every day at 08:02 arriving 10:50.

This train is air-conditioned, comfy, smooth, civilised, with full-size toilets, power sockets, room to move around and stretch your legs. The 08:02 express is called the Josef Seidel.

There are usually taxis waiting at the station, just 100 czk (€3?) gets you a taxi from the station to the old town square right in the heart of the old town (it's pedestrianised, but taxis can enter!)

Trains return to Prague every couple of hours, with the direct one going at 14:02. Great thing is, you don;t need a reservation, you can hop on any train and so stay later or return earlier as the mood takes you. They cannot sell out.

There's a little rustic bar at the station, an ice-cold Kozel beer goes down nicely while awaiting the train back to Prague!

See https://www.seat61.com/places-of-int...ky-krumlov.htm for my photos of the train and the trip.

We also used Mike's Chauffeur - we left Prague, stopped at Hluboka, walked around Cesky Krumlov, and then he took us to the Munich airport. A full day, but we were shoehorning things in....
