Transportation from Paris airport to hotel?
I will be arriving in Paris next Saturday. What are my options on taking transportation from the airport to my hotel(Minerve)?
|
You have several -- it would help if you gave us some info about your budget. On a Saturday a taxi would be pretty fast. And if you have kuggage and or trouble walking/carrying that's the best option.

Your metro station is Cardinale Lemoine -- on line 10 which terminates at Gare Austerliz. Any RER metro route will involve a change. Take the RER line B to Notre Dame/St. Michel and change to line 10 after a LONG walk to Cluny-La Sorbonne. That walk is not for the faint of heart!

ONE OF THE SHUTTLE SERVICES - WE USED PARISSHUTTLE.COM $15.00 PER PERSON, HAD NO PROBLEMS YOU CAN MAKE RESERVATIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE.

I believe the shuttle service is PariShuttle so you can find it on a web search.

Depends on how many people you are and how much luggage you have. I stayed just down the street from the Minerve a couple of years ago. Traveling solo, with a 22" rolling bag and tote. I took the RER to the St. Michel stop, got above ground and walked the rest of the way from there. It's about 5 (level) blocks.

The RER is much faster than any above-ground transport, because there's no traffic. (Cheaper, too.) Frommer's guidebooks are very good re transportation, and I think the info is also in the destinations section of the website.

I stayed at the Minerve last March. Took the RER and changed to the metro. I definitely do not remember the change at ST Michel from RER to Metro as being a LONG walk (as another poster said). I think it took a couple of minutes. The walk to the hotel from Cardinal Lemoine metro stop is about 5 minutes. Walking above ground from St Mich to the Minerve is longer, about 15 minutes, but not undoable. By the way, there is a great Patisserie right across the street from the Minerve where we had breakfast every day, and some days got sandwiches and pastries for lunch too. Yum.
