From tfl.gov.uk about Victoria COACH station:

"A taxi rank is outside the Coach Station on Eccleston Place."

From the National Rail description of London Victoria TRAIN station (NOT the underground which says there are no taxis):

"Taxi ranks are available outside at the front of the station (Terminus Place) and from the upper level (Victoria Place).

From Monday 1 October 2012 the station front facility will relocate to Hudson's Place due to TfL Underground building works - access via platforms 1 and 2. "

You do not need a taxi stand. I assume you have not been to London before . . . there are almost as many taxis as private cars. they are EVERYWHERE and you can easily just hail one on the street. Every taxi has an orange light on the roof above the windshield. If the light is on it is available and you just stand on the edge of the sidewalk and wave at the driver. If the light is turned off it is not available - even if there are no passengers.

I never <u>ever</u> seek out a taxi stand (unless I am at a train station where one does have to wait in a queue for the next cab).

So -- just stand on the edge of the street looking at the traffic coming towards you, and when you see a yellow/orange light (they are bright) a block or half block down the road signal/wave - the driver will see you.

It's worth adding that 99% of the time, hailing a cab on the street along Bayswater Rd is a million times less stressful than from the queue at the Victoria Station taxi rank.

Almost the only exception to that rule is when it's raining heavily.

Taxi ranks are as unBritish as bloody Uber (or heavy rain for that matter). Except under extraordinary circs, neither filthy foreign habit has any place in a civilised city.

The absolute easiest thing to do is take a taxi on Bayswater Road after you get off the Oxford bus. There are usually plenty of taxis around, I know the area well. Just put up your hand if you see one with it's light on. If you don't see one straight away, walk a few steps to the corner where the Champion Pub is. The road next to it is a shortcut often taken by taxis.

And when it's raining heavily, go into the Champion for a drink first :-)

I have never been to London before. I have been to many cities that had taxi stands and heaven help the person who attempts to either jump the line or get in a taxi out of order. Not pretty.
