Transportation from Hotel to CDG

We will be staying at the Relais christine in Oct. Can anyone tell me how much a taxi will be from the hotel to CDG? Do we have to go to a taxi stand or can the hotel call for one?
also, can anyone recommend a reliable private car/transport and the cost? It looks like the hotel has one but it seems very expensive.
thanks so much for any help.

the cost will depend on the traffic. In July, I took a taxi from Place Monge on a holiday morning . With almost no traffic - it came to about 50 euros ( 25-28 min). I would imagine it to be the minimum. It is better to have the hotel call a taxi - often, there are no taxis at the stand.

it took only 25-28 minutes.

If you're interested in a shuttle (a van which carries 6 - 8 people) we were happy with yellowvanshuttle.com. Our hotel arranged the pickup, but you can book on your own.

Taxi stand vs. hotel calling taxi is not an either or type of choices; they are options with pros and cons depending on what you value.

Hotel calling: Pro is that given sufficient lead time, you can be "nearly" sure to get a taxi on time. This is a benefit on a rainy day when the taxis are suddenly very difficult to find at the last minutes. Con is that you already have several euros on the meter when you get on.

Taxi stand: Pro is the cheapest way to use a taxi. You start the meter with the lowest possible price. Con is that you cannot count on finding one when you need it. This works well if the weather is fine, you are traveling off peak, and you are not in a time crunch.

also, unless the taxi stand is in front of your hotel.. you'll be dragging your bags to it.

I always have the hotel call for a taxi ahead of time. One less thing to worry about, for reasons mentioned above. The cost is usually around 50 euros.

I've used Shuttle Inter, it is a privat car not a van. It costs the same as a taxi maybe even less if traffic is bad and the taxi meter is running.

The number for G7 taxis is 01 41 27 66 99. They speak English

I used G7 taxi in July - good service.
Even the driver spoke English!

Have the hotel arrange the taxi.

If you have computer access, you can go online with Les Taxis Bleus and order a taxi yourself, and there is no fee added on for the pickup as there is if you telephone.

Otherwise, have the hotel call and you'll pay a few euros in addition to the fare.

This was posted a year ago. I do hope the OP found transportation!
