transportation from Glasgow to Stonehenge

Hello,

I am planning to visit Stonehenge on my way back to London from Glasgow.
I was wondering what will be the best transportation method: train, airplane or drive?

Thanks for your input.

It's not remotely on the way.

If you're "returning" to London ultimately to travel on somewhere else, the quickest and easiest method is to fly (to Heathrow or more conveniently Southampton), hire a car, visit Stonehenge, then dump the car wherever suits what you next want to do. It's a long (7+ hrs) , multiple change train journey (with no facilities for storing luggage while visiting) and rather longer by car.

If you're based in London, go to the Stonehenge web site (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/d...es/stonehenge/), look at travelling directions then work out the easiest way of getting there from where you're living.

Flying to Bristol & hiring a car which you drop off at Heathrow is also an option

Your question is unanswerable (despite the good answers from flanner and alanRow) w/o more info.

Are you ONLY visiting Glasgow and London - or bits in between? How many days do you have to get from Glasgow to Stonehenge to London? How long are you in London?

Can't really answer in a vacuum . . .
