Transportation from Eichstatt to Munich Airport
My daughter and several other students will be studying at Catholic University of Eichstatt this summer. I am concerned how they will get from the Universityto the airport at the end of the study session. Their flight is at 6:50 am and the train doesn't run early enough to get them to the airport. Can anyone recommend a taxi or shuttle service from the University to the Munich airport. ALso, any idea of the cost? There will be three students at least needing to get to the airport for this early flight.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I would say your daughter should take a train to Freising and stay there the night before, then get a taxi or bus from Freising to the airport in the morning (itīs about 5 km)

It's a summer program with beginning and ending dates and they are pretty strict with adhering to the program dates. I will check to see if that is a possibility. I do not want to break any rules or offend anyone.

To go from Eichstätt to Munich airport for a 6:50am flight they would have to leave the uni campus probably around 4am.
If they are fine with that, there is a taxi company in Eichstätt which offers an airport shuttle for €105 (up to 4 pax) or €135 (up to 8 pax).
Nevertheless, if money for an extra night in a hotel in/near Freising is not an issue, I would also say that going there by train the day before is more convenient.

I agree leaving the night before and staying near the airport makes the most sense. I used to live in Eichstätt and would never have tried to get to the airport for a 6:50 a.m.flight
I think they would have to leave earlier than 4 a.m. if this is an international flight (?)
I can't believe the university cares whether they leave on the afternoon/evening of the 7th or in the very early morning hours of the 8th. They are certainly not going to do anything related to their studies on the 8th before 6:50 a.m.

I am going to check with the University. I know they have a closing reception and I don't want them to miss out on the opportunity to say goodbye to the friends they made while there so I'll check what time that is finished. I really messed up when I made their reservations.
