Transportation from CDG to Notre Dame

I have read several of the postings regarding this subject but find some ambiguity. Specifically, let me set up this scenario: Arrive alone from USA with one average size bag at 13:00 (1:00 pm) on a Thursday and want to get to the Notre Dame area. For each of the modes of transportation (RER,Shuttle and cab) can you tell me:

Cost, time of commute and where to find each after clearing customs.

Thanks

Depending on which terminal you either walk to the RER or take a shuttle to the station. The RER will take 20 minutes to the St. Michel station. It will cost about 8 euro if I remember correctly. You can pay for the ticket with a credit card at the ticket booth. My credit card did not work with the dispensing machines.

i believe that most of the cabs were in the 40-60 euro range but i can't be sure because we always take the rer. that is pretty easy and adds to your big adventure. if you follow the signs you will have no problems. i believe michael is right and you will take a bus shuttle to the station.

We took the RER. MUCH faster. There is a bus that stops at the terminal and it will take you to the RER (about a 5 minute ride as I recall-no charge).
8E per person.

Follow Michael's advice. Take the RER to the St. Michel Station. It's quick; it's easy; it's pretty cheap. The St. Michel Station is right across the Seine from Notre Dame.

Thank you all for your responses. Nobody recommends the Air France Shuttle into the city?

I arrived at 6 AM on a Sunday. I took the Air France Bus to the Gallery deLafayette (first stop anyway), it took about 40 minutes, but was VERY comfortable and cost me about $8E's, you pay the driver, they put the bag in the bus. You get out, they give you your bag and there is a line of taxis. I grabbed at Taxi there and went to St. Michel's metro stop and the cost was 10'es, included tip and I was sipping a cafe creme by 7:15 am (and it was still dark)... I could have walked EASY to Notre Dame

errrr...forgot to say, that customs was a snap; no other planes had arrived at that time, so easy as pie.. 10 minutes?
...maybe?
