transportation from airport to Sheraton Parco De Medici Hotel and resort
My husband and I will be going to Rome in November and staying at the Parco De Medici Hotel and trying to find the best way to get from the airport to the hotel. Hope someone can help on this.

Here is a link to the hotel website which offers the best suggestions:
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sherat...propertyID=931
The hotel is located in the far outskirts of suburban Rome about half way between the airport and the city. It does not have a shuttle to the airport according to this link and suggests a taxi to get from the airport to hotel. The hotel does have a shuttle to central Rome on a limited schedule

Since the hotel is closer to the airport than it is to Rome I'd say a taxi is the best bet. It's only about a 10min ride right down the highway.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn right around the corner on our last night a few years ago and determined that the location would be really awful for a visit to Rome.
Is there any chance you can stay in Rome proper? For me, the ability to just step out of my hotel onto the streets of Rome, or simply pop back into the room for a freshen up before dinner is priceless.

I know you didn;t ask, but this hotel is in a VERY inconvenient location and you will be spending a fortune in taxis (and a lot of time) getting yourself back and forth to Rome. (Yes, there is a shuttle, but service is very scanty - esp at night - when you will want to be having dinner in Rome.)

The reason we are staying at this hotel is because our daughter works for Sheraton here in the states which we are getting at her employee rate, or we would have stayed closer to Rome. We will be leaving on a 14 day cruise, so this isn't our entire trip.

No trains. (The hotel site would have listed a train if there was one.) The closest train stop is the FR1 train, the Muratella stop which does go to the airport, but it is definitely not walkable to the hotel--too far (2.5 km) and convoluted. The hotel is in the middle of an area surrounded by three major autostrade, not very convenient to any train or bus line.
