transportation from airport to hotel
My best friend and I are traveling to Italy with her granddaughter in June. This is my first visit to Italy. I arrive in Venice in the early morning - their flight does not arrive until afternoon. What is the best way for a single woman to get to the hotel easily? We are staying at the Hotel Londra Palace.

The best way is the Alilaguna water bus directly from the airport to the San Zaccharia stop, which is right by the hotel.

No reservation is needed.
Just for clarification, it's not a water taxi, but rather a water bus which runs a predetermined route.
A water taxi is a private for hire boat which will take you virtually anywhere you wish to go, even many smaller canals. For a price, of course.

We arrived in Venice by car, not the airport. There is a parking garage, and then you must take a boat to get to the city. There was a guy "directing" people where to go, but we discovered (too late) that he was trying to get people to take his private (rundown) boat, instead of the nice, cheap public ferry. So just be aware of that and make sure you take the boat you want to take.
