Transportation from airport & Hotel Des Mines, Latin Quarter, Paris

1.Does anyone have any experience with this hotel?
2. I'd welcome suggestions on the best way for 2 people with about 4 bags to get from CDG to the hotel inexpensively.
Thanks

Inexpensively? Take the RER B to Luxembourg station and Bus N° 38 from there.

Somewhat more expensively? Take the Air France bus to Montparnasse and get a cab from there.

What's your idea of inexpensive? I think the best way is a taxi, as it is the easiest and takes you directly to your hotel with little trouble. I consider that fairly inexpensive as that should end up being about 20-25 euro per person. I don't consider that expensive when traveling to get from an airport to my hotel a long ways away.

Other people consider that a lot of money. Public transportation isn't too bad to that location as Hotel des Mines is on bd St Michel, which is where the RER commuter rail line runs from the airport. However, I think that hotel is 2-3 blocks from an RER stop. That's not very bad if your bags are small. So, if you are used to taking underground systems and how that works, I would think that might be the best and cheapest idea. I would do that myself for that distance. Some folks who aren't used to public transportation can't figure out how to buy tickets and use it, and how to read a subway map, however, and aren't comfortable with that.

Hi,
I looked online at the taxi web sites & they emailed me saying a taxi for 2 with luggage would cost 79 euro. I don't think we could fit on public transportation. My daughter is going fot 5 months & has LUGGAGE. I thought you might know of a particular shuttle co or independent group that was a good deal.

Hi M,

www.parishuttle.com and www.beeshuttle.com

About 18E pp.

Getting a taxi at the airport and taking it to your hotel should be about 55-60 E.

Just there the end of October for 2 weeks and arrived around 10:30 AM on a Tuesday morning. A taxi for two with carry-on bags direct to Rue Monge in the 5th for 38 Euro. And that`s just a little further than your location.

Be advised that the fares are contingent on:
-day of the week
-time of day/night
-how many passengers
-how many bags
-and of course- distance

my comment above relates to taxis (not the shuttles - those are a flat rate).
