Transportation at night in Paris

We are planning to attend a concert at night and will be leaving a church around eleven PM.What are my choices for transportation? Bus, subway,Taxi?

Judy Jun 5th, 2010 02:47 PM

At 11 PM all of the above.

11Pm isn't late. Walk - bus - taxi - metro -- whichever one(s) you'd use during the day.

Yes, no problem. Not all of the bus lines run after 9pm but most of them run until half past midnight. The metro runs until 1:15am (2:15 on Fridays and Saturdays). During the night, there are numerous night buses (Noctilien) for people who need to get around.

If you are going to be there in the summer then it's only just properly dark at 11pm. We have walked in Paris at that time of the night and felt very safe.

Kerouac can you advise on taxis? From memory you need to find a taxi stand rather than hail one that is driving past??

kerouac Jun 6th, 2010 03:02 AM

You can hail a taxi unless you are within 50 meters of a taxi stand. That's to prevent cheaters from hailing taxis "upstream."

thanks so much to everyone!I just didn't want to walk out of the concert and feel helpless in an area strange to me .
