Transportation after a very late arrival at Heathrow

We are arriving into heathrow at 10:30pm. After customs etc, it will be close to midnight when we will need transportation into central London. How late does the tube run? Or the train? Does anyone have the answer for this problem?
Thanks very much!

Last Heathrow Express around 11.30pm

Last tubes around 11.30pm Sunday, 11.50pm in the week.

The Tube runs until about 1:00 a.m. Check out their website at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ for more details.
The Heathrow Express train's last run varies between as early as 8:48 and up to 11:41 depending on the day of the week and what terminal you arrive at - check out their website at http://www.heathrowexpress.com/ for more details.
I'm sure taxi cabs run 24 hours if you're willing to pay the price. I've also heard good things about car services, such as Just Airports, though I haven't used one myself yet. It probably be worth checking out with your schedule.

...keep in mind that if you are arriving to terminal 4, to catch the tube, you will need to catch a shuttle bus to hatton cross tube station. The tube currently does not got to terminal 4 because of works associated with the construction of terminal 5. The shuttle bus is free to hatton cross and only take 5 mins but when you are carrying lots of luggage can be a hassle. Heathrow express gets you into Paddington station - which means if you are staying in the westend you will need to grab a taxi - £25 or more - or jump on the tube.

If you miss the last tube and don't want to spend money on a taxi, there are buses at least every half hour into central London. Try the journey planner on Transport for London's web site (www.tfl.gov.uk).

I'm one of those who frequently recommends Just Airports and it's what we use to get into central London when arriving in the evening. It's much less expensive than a black taxi and, budget allowing, much less stressful than fooling with public transport that late at night.

You can get an estimate for the cost at their website (justairports.com). Opt for cash payment, price is much lower. Once you get the estimate, call and book directly as they are not terribly responsive by email. I've used them a bunch and have never had anything but reliable and friendly service.

If you have luggaages, I would not use the tube; there are many stairs in the stations and it is not so easy.
After a long flight, late in teh night, I would take a taxi.

We used justairports for roundtrip for 4 of us. It was perfectly reliable and reasonable.

I did check out Just Aiports, looks like the right choice for us. Figuring out an estimate proved difficult for me, I did not have the postcode. Our hotel is in the Kensington area.

Just Google your hotel, and you'll find the post code.
