Wanting to get from Lourdes France to Rome Italy, one way. Need to know website for train, I checked Air France, flight for 2, very expensive. Any suggestions, thanks.

easiest for connections is the German! railway bahn.de. For prices you have to check sncf.com and trenitalia.com.

Take a train to Pau. Fly to London Stansted on Ryanair. Book a separate flight on Ryanair from Stansted to Rome Ciampino.

Leave AT LEAST two hours between your scheduled arrival at Stansted and your scheduled departure. Budget airlines like Ryanair cut you no slack if you miss their check-in deadline. If you do, your ticket will be worthless and you'll have to buy a new one for a later flight at a very high price. It makes no difference that both flights are on the same airline. They are totally separate bookings.

Adding to my previous note. I'd be more comforatable allowing three or four hours to make the connection at Stansted.

Thanks to both of you on train and flights.

You can take the train (TGV) to Paris and fly out on one of the discount airlines to Rome.
