Transport to City Center from Rome airport (FCO)

We're arriving @ 8 AM and plan to travel by train to Sorrento for 2 days, but wish to drop the majority of our luggage at our Rome hotel (Hotel Bernini Bristol, near Trevi fountain).

With our 2 kids and lots of luggage, what is the best way to get to the hotel and then back to Termini Station? Train & subway? Better/less expensive to have a car service take us to the hotel for the luggage drop and then on to the Termini station?

The set taxi fee is 40 Euro from airport t city center. It would be additional to get to the train stastion. I have had xcelent service from Limo service rome , make sure it is service not serviceS

Take a limo to hotel then you can walk to the station!

The set fee for taxi (official Comune Roma taxi) from airport is good for 4 people including luggage. Limo transfers (such as Limo Service Rome) will be a bit more although a few are only 5-10€ more (RomeShuttleLimousine).

Your hotel is not really much closer to the Trevi than it is to the train station. You could walk to the train station after dropping your luggage or your hotel is on a metro stop and you can hop the metro and be there in a couple of minutes (Termini is only two stops away). It may take a few minutes to drop luggage so if you want to taxi, I would just get another taxi when you are ready to leave the hotel instead of having the one from the airport wait, if you are taking any luggage to Sorrento (everyone might want to take a few minutes to freshen up after a long flight).

With 2 kids and a lot of luggage the only thing that makes sense is a taxi unless you are sqeezing every penny (doesn;t sound liek it based on your hotel). And if the kids are young (not old/big enough to handle their own luggage) taxi is the only pracitcal way.

Thanks for the prompt replies.
Does the car service need to be arranged in advance?

If it is a taxi, no.

Shuttles and limos, yes.
