Transport Salerno to Amalfi
Hi Everyone
We'll be five adults travelling from Rome-Sallerno-Amalfi end of Sept. Any suggestions for a driver/cab company doing the Salerno-Amalfi leg would be appreciated. Thank you.. |
|
We used Tour of Italy last year. We had both Giovanni and Giancarlo (father & son). They were fabulous. We did Naples to Positano, Sorrento to Naples, and a half day tour of the Amalfi coast with them. I can't remember the price, but it was well worth it. Giovanni even sent a beautiful rose to our hotel in Sorrento. I believe there is some old tradition about carrying a rose in Sorrento.

Remember that there is very frequent bus service from the Salerno train station to the town of Amalfi by SITA Lines. Departures every 30 to 60 minutes 7 days a week.

Thanks so much for these options - we'll probably do Salerno to Amalfi by limo and do the bus rides when siteseeing.
|
Thanks Steve, appreciate your input - any particular driver?
|
take the bus as suggested or use the very reliable local Taxi service, which is cheaper than a limosine. The Journey
is only thirty minutes,so not much need for a limosine. |
Wasn't sure if there was a good local taxi service - thanks. Any idea of price from Salerno to 1km out of Amalfi?
|
I'm guessing here, but a typical quote for Salerno-Positano by limo is about € 100-120, - so Salerno-Amalfi should be perhaps € 70-80.
If you use a taxi rather than a limo co., make sure you fix a price first. Personally I'd pre-book a limo, (- otherwise for 5 people + luggage you may end up needing 2 taxis, which would be more expensive). An alternative would be bus to Amalfi as has been suggested (€ 1.70) and a taxi from there, - or take the ferry. Hope this helps ... Steve |
Your Hotel will be able to give you the local Taxi rates.Local Taxis come in all shapes & sizes from Mercedes to Mini Buses, simpy tell your hotel what you require.
