What is the best way to get to the airport from the Hotel Colombina? We have a very early flight and the company we booked through does not transfer that early.
Thanks

Water taxi is the best way--especially if the Columbina has its own dock. It's also the most expensive way, but the taxi will pick you up at your hotel if it has a dock, or at the nearest navigable location to your hotel, and take you directly to the airport dock.

There are other ways involving various combinations of a vaporetto (water bus) or walking and/or land taxi/bus/train. They would be much less expensive, but more time consuming.

The Colombina has its own dock.
But of course, water taxis are charging crazy prices. How early is your take-off going to be? The first public bus (3 Euros per person) arrives at the airport at 5.20, as you can already read in more than one thread on Fodor's, so if your flight doesn't go before 6.20 or so, you'll be perfectly in time (the airport is small, and it doesn't make any sense to arrive 2 hours before take-off, even if the airline should tell you so - just use the search function, there is plenty of information already available on this forum).

Have the concierge if you so choose make the reservations for the water taxi
to get you to Marco Polo Airport. It should be about 90 Euros, however if
very early might be a suppliment for early departure. The taxi will take about 30 mins to get you to the airport dock and then about a 400 m walk from
the dock to the departure hall. Was thru
the airport twice in February and was
very impessed with it, seems very well
done....Richard of LaGrange Park, IL..

Most people with early morning flights ask their hotel front desk to arrange a water taxi. It's done all the time.
