transporation in russia

can anyone answer the following questions?

1- can you recommend a taxi and or a web site that you know is reliable for a ride from moscow airport to the city.

2- can you recommend a reliable company in english that we can book an overnight train from moscow to st petersburg? do they have a usa phone# or a web site.

thank you

I can't answer the taxi question, because I've always used private drivers.

However, I can recommend a tour company we've used for Visa invitations & registration. I know they can book train tickets too and have an office in the U.S.

Are all your Visa and Registration stuff being taken care of? If not, they are a great option. My sister used them to visit me in Russia.

The response by bookwurm 70 seems to take good care of the transportation question.

We could ,however, strongly recommend The Cafe Pushkin as a fine restaurant. A throwback to old Russia and open 24 hours.

use http://www.go-russia.com/ for both (transfer and tickets) ... I've used them in past for airport transfers and tickets - and they were just great ...

We took the Grand Express train from Moscow to St. Petersburg. It was very nice, clean, air conditoned, had a nice breakfast box, cable tv. We enjoyed the train very much. Their website in enlgish is: http://www.grandexpress.ru/en/
