Translation App opinion wanted
I am considering buying an app to translate Italian to English and vice versa. Does anyone have a favorite? Why?
|
is there a particular reason you want this?
i've never used one as i use a dictionary. |
I find apps like that to be comical. I try to imagine someone actually using it to hold a "conversation" and I break out laughing. And if it's not for "talking," what is it for? Menu translations? There are plenty of those, and good ones, in print form that will fit in your pocket. Really, I wish someone would enlighten me.

Google Translate is lots of fun -- say "where is the train station?" in English, then see and hear it in Italian (or any other language from Azerbijani to Welsh). It is free, so why not give it a try?

I was interested in potentially trying one as an alternative to carrying around more paper, but I didn't know if it would be a good move or not. I probably would use it more like a dictionary, as that is what I'm used to.

you can get a dictionary on kindle - which saves carrying around loads of paper but I find less convenient.
